members of the Democratic Party in Coles County and others
who support the values, objectives and activities of the party.
The website will have postings on election dates and deadlines,
activities of the local, State and National Democratic Party, qualifications of Democratic candidates running for public office,
qualifications for the various offices and so forth. We hope all Democrats and
independents who are interested in working with the party will make use of this website.

Coles County Democratic Mission Statement and Purpose;
The Coles County Central Committee
is an organization composed of all qualified elected and appointed Democratic precinct committeemen. The mission of the Central Committee is to carry out the functions of the party in accordance with the
Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 46, Section 7-8c. In addition the Central
Committee shall:
A. Seek to stimulate on the part of citizens of the county an interest in
all governmental affairs for the purpose of raising ethical standards, insuring adequate community service and efficiency
in all units of township, county, state and national governments;
B. Inform voters of key issues in all elections and to present to the voters of Coles County
candidates to represent the Democratic Party
C. Act upon civic, political and other matters of common interest to all residents of Coles County
Coles County Democratic Strategic Plan
1. Appoint or elect a full complement
of precinct committee persons
2.
Establish control of official party communications
3. Maintain ongoing communications with local, state and federal office holders
4.
Develop a large cadre of party volunteers
5.
Secure county-wide candidate sign locations
6.
Assist candidates for office by coordinating
campaigns
7.
Provide financial assistance for candidates
for office
8.
Provide ongoing training for officers and precinct
committeemen
9.
Empower precinct committeemen with a home based
data bank
10. Conduct annual fundraisers to maintain the financial viability of the
party
11. Develop and execute voter turnout plans
12. Establish and maintain good communications with voters, precinct committeemen,
candidates and office holders.
